Research shows that the first six years are the most important for brain development, with birth to two being especially significant. During this period, your baby’s brain is developing rapidly, forming the neural connections that support everything from learning to emotional regulation.
That’s why we take our role so seriously. Responsive, caring interactions don’t just comfort children. They help shape the brain itself. The secure, nurturing bonds our educators build with each baby spark essential brain activity and support the growth of strong, healthy pathways.
Creating Trust and Emotional Security
Our approach in the Babies Room is built on the understanding that relationships are key to healthy development. We create a calm, consistent environment where babies feel safe, valued and deeply connected to the people who care for them.
Our daily routines include a range of nurturing activities such as:
• Baby massage to support bonding and sensory development
• Nursery rhymes that combine rhythm, repetition and fun to build early language skills
• Gentle yoga to encourage emotional connection and physical wellbeing
These experiences aren’t just nice extras. They are carefully chosen to help your baby feel secure, confident and ready to explore the world around them.
Building Emotional Intelligence from the Start
One of the things that makes our program unique is our focus on emotional intelligence, even with the youngest children. It’s never too early to start helping babies:
• Recognise and name their emotions
• Understand what causes different feelings
• Express emotions in safe, supported ways
• Begin learning how to regulate their responses

Learning Through Exploration and Play
Babies are natural explorers. We support their curiosity by offering rich sensory experiences that encourage hands-on discovery. Creative expression is a big part of what we do, with art and craft activities designed for little hands and growing minds.
One of our favourite experiences is messy sensory play. It allows babies to explore different textures, colours and materials in a joyful, open-ended way. These activities aren’t just fun. They are essential for brain development and help babies learn how the world works.
Supporting Physical Development
Watching a baby go from sitting, to crawling, to walking is always a joy. The determination they show with each milestone is truly inspiring.
We support these important steps with experiences that build strength, balance and coordination. Our KIDDO program is designed to make physical development fun and engaging, helping each child grow in confidence as well as capability.
Communication Starts Early
Even before babies can talk, they’re constantly communicating. Our educators are skilled at tuning in to each baby’s cues, paying close attention to sounds, gestures and expressions so every child feels heard and understood.
We use sign language as part of our communication approach, based on AUSLAN. This gives babies a way to express their needs and feelings before they can speak, helping to reduce frustration and strengthen emotional bonds.
We also build a love of language through storytelling, singing and rhyme. These experiences help develop early literacy and create beautiful shared moments of joy and connection.
The Magic of Surprise Bag Time
A favourite part of the day in our Babies Room is Surprise Bag Time. This interactive group activity captures attention and inspires curiosity as babies explore new objects, textures and ideas.
It’s a fun and engaging way to introduce learning through play, helping children build early cognitive skills in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
