Kids College is a quality childcare centre with an EXCEEDING THE NATIONAL STANDARDS rating on the old system in 2016 and again on the new system in 2019. Kids College is proudly owned and managed by the Scafidas family. We were very lucky and finally had our dream come true, to create a wonderful loving childcare for children to enjoy and for parents to trust.

Nicholas and Craig Scafidas are our Directors, Wendy is our Administration Manger and Jennifer is our Manager, Nominated Supervisory Officer and Educational Leader. Our beautiful 19-year-old and 17-year-old daughters provide a child’s perspective. With such a strong involved management team it is important to all of us to choose dedicated early childhood education professionals to work with.

We have a unique system where we have a large job share team that is fully trained with us and works exclusively with us. This ensures people who know and love your children are here each and every day and there is no need for relief staff from outside our centre. This has become especially important during Covid times ensuring we are fully staffed at all times, people who need to take leave can do so and we are separated from any germs that might be lurking in the community.

Our staffing team is highly qualified and most importantly have a love for children and a passion for childcare in their blood. Kids College is our third child and we welcome you to our centre. We send our children home every day having experienced love, laughter and learning.

Our Kids College staffing team

Kids College has a core team of eight permanent full-time educators across our four rooms.

We usually have four or five part time job share team members. We have now welcomed some new exceptional quality team members and increased our permeant part time job share team taking us up to 10 job share members.

Each team member gets a few fixed days each week and works in different roles on different days. When one of our team need a day off, we have the advantage of calling on any of our job share team who know and love all of our Kids College children.

This system also ensures we are upholding our exceptional hygiene practices and there isn’t any cross contamination of germs from any other centre that relief staff from an agency might bring.

This job share system ensures a good life work balance and allows for time to study and follow our early childhood educator career path and build skills so we can be the very best we can be.

She is passionate about providing a safe and welcoming environment where all children feel happy and confident to explore, create and learn. She prides herself on making connections with each and every child and valuing what they bring to each day and enjoying the learning journey with them. She moved to Australia when she was 29 years to start her next adventure. In Australia she has been involved in early childhood education from so many different perspectives. She has worked in classrooms with children, been an adult trainer for Cert 3 and Diploma students at high schools, she has also been centre director, but her love and passion gets her back on the floor enjoying sharing this precious time with the children themselves. Michele has been married forever and has two adult daughters who are her best friends and she has five little grandchildren who she absolutely dotes on. Weekends are family time, being in the pool together bbq and spending happy days at the beach. She loves animals and has a menagerie of pets. One of her hobbies is photography where she loves to capture a moment and preserve the magic of that precious memory. She believes a child’s mental health and wellbeing are paramount to their lives. One of her favourite things she has been involved in over the years was becoming a Relax Kids coach at Oxford University. It is a program that fosters relaxation and mindfulness, managing emotions and boosting self esteem, self-regulation and reframing emotions in positive way leading to emotional intelligence.

Carolyn (Cazz) (Mondays and Wednesdays in office) joined the Kids College team in 2023. Cazz is driven by a profound love for teaching young children and a steadfast belief that every child has the right to a fulfilling and enriching education. Witnessing their growth and the sparkle of understanding in their eyes keeps her inspired. Beyond the classroom, she finds solace in nature, keeping fit with long walks in the great outdoors and enjoy doing a little Yoga for both physical and mental well-being. To unwind and relax, she reaches for a novel, finding escape in the pages of a good story. Cazz loves word puzzles – enigma and cryptic crosswords, code cracker and of course the famous Wordle! She also takes pleasure in heading to the kitchen, losing herself in music, while exploring new recipes to create delicious treats to share. EARLY CHILDCARE EDUCATORS APPRECIATION DAY

At Kids College we celebrate Early Childhood Educators day every year in September. We are asking all of our lovely families to please send us an email on Jennifer@kidscollege.com.au and/or leave a review on our Kids College Childcare facebook site letting our wonderful staffing team know how much you love and appreciate all the hard work, love and dedication they have to caring and teaching your beautiful children.

Quote from Kids College Philosophy

‘We have a positive workplace culture that values and supports our profession as early childhood educators. We believe in our team of enthusiastic educators who genuinely enjoy being part of children’s lives and enjoy creating warm responsive relationships with a foundation based in secure bonding and attachments.’
